Antique Barber Chairs For Sale
Ernest Koken invented the first antique barber chair in 1906 with features that would compare to a barber chair produced today. Since these first chairs were produced so many years ago they are getting quite hard to find. The chairs below are actual ebay auctions available for sale right now and sorted for your convenience below. With adjustable height, seat, footrest and reclining back rest this chair was much comfortable for the customer and barber. Koken didn’t stop there and continued developing chairs with further advancements. Various designs utilized upholsteries of leather and construction from porcelain, chrome, walnut, and other hard woods.
Other famous makers of now antique barber chairs were Emil Paidar and Louis Hanson. These chairs were available with many of the same features as the first Koken chairs had and were built with similar materials. Since leather was the longest lasting covering of the time all chairs of this time feature this type of upholstery. A few other makers of the time were Koch, Belmont, and Weber.
